Hey y'all!

In a picture-perfect October day, Symone and Olajide exchanged vows at The Waterview in Monroe, Connecticut. As UCONN alums, their wedding was not only a union of two souls but a joyful reunion of college friends, full of cherished memories and rekindled bonds.

Set against the serene waterfront, framed by autumn's golden hues, the venue provided a romantic backdrop for their celebration. The day’s color palette of burgundy, blush, and white was perfectly reflected in the stunning floral arrangements that adorned the space. Tall centerpieces and lush focal blooms brought an air of timeless elegance to the occasion.

Symone, a dedicated teacher, and Olajide, a compassionate doctor, infused their thoughtfulness and love into every detail. Their ceremony was filled with joy and laughter, serenaded by John the Violinist, who played K-Ci & JoJo’s “All My Life” for the wedding party, and John Legend’s “You and I” as Symone walked down the aisle. The soft melody flowed through the day, adding a tender touch to the vibrant celebration that followed.

The reception was alive with the sounds of Afrobeats, Caribbean, hip-hop, and R&B music, honoring their African and Jamaican cultures. Friends and family danced the night away, celebrating the couple’s love. One of the most touching moments came when their UCONN alumni friends gathered for a special group photo, symbolizing the strong sense of community that surrounded the couple.

The evening ended with a magical sparkler send-off, lighting up the night sky as Symone and Olajide began their journey together. The love, joy, and connection shared on that day left their guests with unforgettable memories, marking the beginning of a lifetime of happiness for the couple.
